Well, sorry about the wait for this page. It should have been up on Monday, but life got in
the way. I'm pretty pleased with it given how little time free I've got at the moment (all
this changes on Thursday when I finish my exams ^_^). And, it contains the actual reason
for this subplot. Well, ok, it contains the reason I came up with after having started
writing the story and realising I didn't have any justification at all. Even now, it's pretty
shaky (pursuing a UFO 'stolen' because of an art mistake, the gang wind up getting diverted
to an alien spaceship sent to destroy Earth to prevent a coffee company causing the end of
the world? implausible at best), but it fits the feel of the strip and it's better than my
brief when I started writing; 'the gang run into an alien spaceship which is coming to destroy
Earth, reason unknown'.

You can tell I should be revising by the quality of the digital editing; take a close look
at Mike's right shoulder in panel 6; I absentmindedly drew him standing on his own when he's
still supposed to be dangling from the Emperor's shoulder, then re-drew by hand and shaded
accordingly. Problem? I inked it before making the correction, so there was a big black line
from the base of Mike's neck across his shoulder and gun-hand to the edge of the cell. I don't
think you can even see the mark any more...

On an entirely different subject, Paranoia Agent has become my favourite anime series. The
ending is brilliant, and pretty much has the courage of its convictions (though they rebuild
the city awfully fast...), and it wouldn't be too out of touch with the series to say that
Tsukiko-chan is God (watch it and form your own opinion). I bought the first disk on Monday.
I'll buy the rest when I have the money. The only other watching I've done which I haven't
yet commented on is Princess Princess 5, which is hilarious. Some of my friends insist it
isn't officially shounen-ai (boy love), but I don't know how they can defend that given how
blatant the attraction between the two male leads is (check out the jealous faces each of
them pulls while the other is talking about how he's going to find a girlfriend. Oh, and the
way they keep going on dates together). Never mind the plot - even if it is hilarious.

I think that's about it. Must revise :(

Wub, Rik

Bizarre Things I've Said!

"There *is* a spoon, and it's wonky!"
My spoon at dinner today had been bent and unbent several times. I commented on this, and
someone gave the inevitable Matrix quote. However, philosophically speaking, there is a spoon
whether Neo can bend it or not...
