Prismatic Vodka #82 Monday July 3rd 2006 "Public transport" copyright 2005 Rik Davnall, all rights reserved Rik_the_Riff@hotmail.com - email me! Eep! Today is supposed to be the day my exam results come out *engages in mild panic*. I'll let you know how that goes tomorrow, hopefully, when LITTLE HEART begins again! I have a feeling it's going to be a good week (touch wood), though it's been murderously hot here the past two days and it's not due to change (we had a helluva thunderstorm last night - best one I've seen in a very long time ^_^). For four or five hours of yesterday, it was just too damn hot to draw, otherwise I'd be well ahead. As it is, I'm drawn up to Wednesday, which should hopefully be enough. I like this page. I like it, chiefly, because of Tink's speech in panel 2, and, of course, because I love Mike's attitude. That's about it, really. I still haven't managed to get Tink looking attractive enough, though I'm getting there (well, she looks better than she did in her first appearance, way back in November of last year). Anime! Yesterday, I rewatched some Boogiepop Phantom. Words cannot express how much I love that series, with its complexity, its wacky style, and its stunning plot. The commentaries are also good, a nice change for a DVD release of an asian production (often, because the commentaries are by 'experts' instead of people who were actually involved in the project, they're dire). It manages to be entertaining and informative without ever going over the fine line of giving too much away. I also finally got round to .Hack//Roots 12 and Ouran 12. Roots first; I really enjoyed this episode. It seemed to manage quite a lot (particularly given the series' tendency to waste screen minutes). I'm just frustrated that Haseo and Shino can't get their act together and kiss already. Sure, the .Hack//Thing is unstated, repressed love, but it's just getting ridiculous... Also, the whole plot with the Sign and the virus-thing seems to have evaporated. Ouran was... strange. Bits of it were hilarious - particularly the bit near the start where Honey turned into some sort of Akira-wannabe - but it was also a little... strung-out, I guess. It was a throw-in joke turned into a whole episode and the whole bit with Mori was just unconvincing. It's too late to start trying to inject him with a personality - a fact demonstrated by his inability to even so much as twitch a single facial muscle when confronted with a girl confessing her love. And who the hell gave Renge-chan a microphone? How is that a good idea? More tomorrow! Wub, Rik ![]() ![]()
