Something a little different today. I've been invited to participate in the Crossover Wars, and I don't see how I could really refuse. With that in mind, I've had to start this Zobbo spin-off, Swimmer in the Abyss, which is going to run Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday for the next three weeks. Zobbo will update Sundays only for the time being, and yes, this does mean that there's going to be 7 pages a week on the Drunken Scribblings website (and this time, they're all to be drawn by me... whee! more work! ^_--)

Also, I'm dabbling with new stylistic elements for Swimmer, because I felt like it and because hopefully I'll come up with a slightly more time-saving style this way. Which would be good with this much drawing to do. Trouble is, it's a style which will work much better once we get out of hyperspace and back to real space, so this page looks a little odd. Still, exciting times ahead, so bear with me.

Gah, does this ever have me busy, though. I'm currently plowing through the work for Saturday's page, and it's proving difficult. This style has advantages and disadvantages in terms of speed, so it probably works out no faster than any other, but at least I'm trying something new, ne?

Busy-ness aside, I'm still finding time for a little anime here and there; I finished Kanon.. the ending is... well, it's a little cheap, and there's never quite the catharsis that an ending that happy should bring on, but it works out fine in the end. I've moved on to Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora, which I mentioned a few weeks back. It's a bit all-over-the-place, since the writers seem to be intent on creating a fanboy paradise at the expense of plot, characterisation and decent dialogue, but with that much fan-service, who's complaining? And for all that they're so far a little flat and stereotypical, the characters are mostly likeable (except the obvious villain, who's marvellously boo-hiss). It might not be intelligent, but it's very fun, and I love the opening and end themes.

Wub,

Rik
