Zobbo: Swimmer in the Abyss #22 Saturday June 9th 2007

Again, Admiral Sullivan is my interpretation of a character more or less copyright to (or at least property of) Paul Sullivan, a good friend of mine completely lacking of a website and therefore hard to link to. The Nomad Fleet is co-property of me, Paul Sullivan and Stephen Forrester, with ship designs all done by me. And one last time, thanks to Turnsky of Foxfire for the loan of his ship designs, Howard Tayler of Schlock Mercenary for the loan of the Ghanj-Rho system, and Hogan for organising it all (here)

Yup, folks, it's over. Here endeth the Sci-fi section of the Crossover Wars (except that apparently Hogan's opened a new chapter of it somewhere else that I haven't had a chance to read yet). It's been a blast, but exhausting; my contribution may only have been 22 pages long, but those 22 pages refer to more than 8 weeks of me updating seven times a week with pages I drew with my own hands (okay, so I got a week and a half's rest break in the middle and it was much needed, but still). That I managed to hold down all that updating says scary things about what I could manage this summer (after all, now it's only got a day-job and a band to contend with rather than the stress of exam period ^_--)

Of course, it's not *really* over. Not only are the Crossover Wars still ongoing, but I've let a string of cats out of the bag over the last eight weeks and the lasting effects on Drunken Scribblings continuity will be potent; imagine how Zobbo will react next time he goes up against Soban and finds himself fighting a Battle Carrier equipped with a DRACO jump drive. Plus, of course, I've created in Zendp (Soban's Zerflinken first mate) at least one (more) character I want to revisit by means of a Soban-specific comic.

Then there's the mystery of Admiral Sullivan and the Nomad Fleet... I'm hopefully seeing Paul and Foz today...

Gah, so tired at the moment. I'd be a lot more insightful were I writing this rant while less tired, I'm sure, but I dragged myself back to Liverpool today to clean my room up and have what turned out to be one of the best band practices we've ever had; despite ridiculously hot conditions, we blasted through pretty much every song we know and they all sounded like they were 80% ready or better (except for the ones we're still writing, which just sounded better than they ever had before). It's beginning to come together. Plus, we now have a song that sounds almost exactly like the Friends theme...

But I am now, of course, shatterezzzzzzz.....
